-The staff is very helpful. You can ask them to help to order 太阳饼and黄梨饼(李仪饼店 brand) by filling in forms.
Order two days in advance before you check out.
-Can also ask them to arrange FreeGo bus to airport on the last day, must make sure the right KFC pickup point.
Overall it was a good stay.

Day 1 - Friday - Singapore > Taiwan

- SG > Taipei - Taoyuan Airport @ 12:30PM

- High speed rail train to Taipei Main Stn - 20mins -> Metro train from Taipei to Ximen Stn Blue line - 10mins

- Walk to Ximen hotel - check in 3pm , put luggage only -> Recce around hotel -> Lunch

- National Museum > Chiang Kai Shek Memorial Hall > Dinner @ Hello Kitty Café > Taipei 101

Alternatively, you can take bus from Airport to Ximending/hotel location (it's cheaper, we ended up doing this instead of the above, but in case you need it, I shall leave it there haha)

Dinner @ Hello Kitty Café was good, they require a minimum spending of 300TWD for each person. Its quite easy to hit 300 each person, but I recommend sharing, just order a set meal (about400TWD) and a plate of dessert and share. Set meal comes with side dishes (soup, salad, appetizer) and drinks so its really worth it. Portion is big and free pudding dessert for each person after meal.

Day 2 - Saturday

- Ximen Stn > Taipei Main Stn -> Taipei Intercity Bus Terminal 19

- Take Kuo Kuang bus to Yehliu - Chin Shan Youth activity centre - 1hr 20mins

- Walk into side road 15-20mins to reach Yehliu Geog Park

From Yehliu To Golden Waterfall 金瓜石 To Pingxi To JiuFen To Liaoning Night Market

We hired a chauffeur for this day (about 100sgd in total) cos its time consuming to travel if we want to cover all the places. We had lunch (xiaolongbao, even better than Ding Tai Feng’s) at Pingxi, the place they filmed the 那些年我们一起追的女孩。 We also went to 放天灯 over there. From there we went to JiuFen, which was a setting inspiration for movie ‘Spirited Away’, good place to walk around.

We took a bus back to Ximending from Jiufen cos the chauffeur had to go off, and then we went to Liaoning Night Market which was really very bad, don’t go there, there’s really nothing much

Day 3 - Sunday

- Shopping day

- YongKang Street

- LongQuan Street

- WufenPu - Hou Shan Pi Station

- Raohe Night Market

Don’t go to YongKang & Longquan on Sunday cos they start their business quite late. Wufenpu is a shopping haven, lotsa cheap things to buy, don’t go Wufenpu on Mon/Tuesday cos its reserved for wholesale buyers, they won’t really entertain you if you’re just buying few pieces. Raohe night market is super good, you just keep buying food n eat haha. I don’t have any particular food to recommend cos everything is really yummy. Just try everything. Raohe is known for its pepper meat buns which u have to queue, we did and bought but we thought our SG meat bun is tastier, don’t really recommend but you can just try.

Day 4 - Monday

- Ximen Stn > Taipei Main Stn -> High Speed Rail to HsinChu Stn

- Cab to 小人国

From 小人国 to LeeFoo Village Theme Park - Cab

LeeFoo Village Theme Park > Taipei 101 Peak > Huaxi Night Market @ Longshan Temple MRT

小人国 was an eye opener in my opinion cos I really like miniature architecture. They also have a small amusement park inside with simple rides. We cabbed to LeeFoo since it's a distance away to climb. Actually its not that far away la haha. But we were spending money to buy time so its ok. LeeFoo amusement park was okay, not too fun, not too boring. We cleared almost all rides in 3hours. Park size is almost similar to Universal Studios Singapore. You can deposit your bags in the lockers @ this water bumper ride attraction so you don't have to carry them everywhere, plus some water rides can really get you soaked. Afterwards we went to Taipei 101 peak, its about 20SGD each person for entry. Personally I think it's a waste of money but since you’re in taipei, you might as well go up. Its best to go at 630pm so u get the bright view, sunset view and night view. Theres also an open rooftop view at a higher floor, you can take the stairs. After that we went to Huaxi Night Market @ Longshan temple mrt and snake street. At the end of Huaxi night market, the second last stall sells really good ou-wa jian, oyster omelette. We tried the mianxian as well, but its not as good as Ximending’s famous Ah Zhong Mian Xian (must try) The fried cuttlefish was also damn good, my fave from Huaxi Night Market.

Day 5 - Tuesday

- Ximen Stn > Taipei Main Stn > Beitou Stn

- Hot Spring Museum > Hell Valley

- DanShui > Lovers Bridge

- Fisherman Wharf

Hot spring was really good! We went to a public one so it was much cheaper, but the hot spring museum is really damn boring haha. Afterwards we went to Danshui to catch the sunset, its really beautiful. We bought a lot of Tiedans from Danshui ,about….10 packets? We tried the Danshui A-gei, which is tofu stuffed with flavored glass noodle and deep fried later. It was okay, not too fascinating, fishballs were ok too, thought SG ones were better haha.

Day 6 - Wednesday

- Ximen Stn > Taipei Main Stn > Taipei HSR > Buy Tix

- Tai Chung

- Take Nantou Bus - 2.5hrs

- Sun Moon Lake – Ci En Temple & Pagoda

- 18 degrees Chocolate

- Feng Jia Night Market

HSR to TaiZhong is actually quite exp, about 50SGD each person. You can get tickets at any 711 beforehand or on the day itself, sometimes seats may get sold out. Reaching Sun Moon Lake, you can buy tickets to unlimited ferry rides, about 5sgd each person. You must try the famous 阿婆茶叶蛋. Its 50cents (sgd) each and its so damn good. After which, we took a quiet misty trail up the mountain to Ci En Temple, its about 700metre long, and then another 500metre to Ci En Pagoda, and a 700metre high staircase up the Pagoda. The view is worth the climb. It took us about 25-30mins. After Sun Moon Lake, we went to 18 degrees Chocolate, its this artisan chocolate shop located at a ulu place, they have a wide variety of chocolates and they’re pretty good. FengJia Night market was also very happening, lotsa food lotsa shopping to do.

Day 7 - Thursday

- Ximen Stn > Taipei Main Stn > YangMingShan

- Shilin Night Market

We went to Taipei Main Station shopping areas to look for 太阳堂 , they sell 太阳饼 that contains 猪油, normally its 奶油, we didn’t manage to get from TaiZhong so had to search for it at Taipei, 猪油 is not bad, I prefer the 奶油one though.

After that we went to YangMingShan, we took a shuttlebus that brought us around. It got colder as we went higher, its really beautiful, with all the misty volcano landscapes, we didn't get to go to the hot springs but I bet its definitely nice, its best to go in the morning as the last shuttle bus is at 530pm and the bus ride was super bumpy, many people got dizzy and had motion sickness. We went to Shilin Night Market after that, food was kinda overrated there haha, I think Raohe’s better. But same old, a lot of food and a lot of shopping.

Day 8 - Friday - Taipei > Singapore

- Check out - Lugagges @ hotel

- Shopping at Ximending

- Reach hotel by 4pm - collect luggages

- Reach Taoyuan Terminal 1 by 6pm – Freego bus > Plane back to SG

On the last day, we went to the nearest Carrefour to get Cupnoodles 满汉大餐，一度赞 , explored Ximending completely and did last minute shopping and took Freego bus to airport, if you’re leaving for airport on a Friday/sat, must remember to leave early cos the traffic jam can get quite bad, our ride was 2 hours instead of 1 and we literally ran to the boarding after the check-in. we managed to buy more 黄梨饼 and some other biscuits before boarding though haha. Our baggage went overweight..about 6kg but they let it pass.

Other notes:

-Taiwan currency: Divide by 20

-Don’t worry about getting lost, we’re always getting lost and asking for directions. Taiwan people are super nice and helpful.

-Remember to bring motion sickness pills cos theres always long bus rides.

-You can buy their Easy card to travel, same as ez link.

-You can visit the Visitor information counter at MRT to register for free WIFI when you reach Taiwan, just show them your passport and they will create a free account for you.

-Remember to also buy fruits and herbal tea, their street food is really good but also super heaty and oily. Their fruits are extremely good, I had the best guava over there. Bubble teas were bloody cheap (80cents sgd) and super good, better than KOI, must try, we drank almost every day haha.

-Most importantly, visit Taiwan Visitor Association Singapore at 30 Raffles Place, #10-01, Chevron House, Singapore 048622 before you travel. They will give you freebies, and you can take informative brochures, just remember to bring your flight & accommodation itinerary. Different freebies different season though. It could be stored-valued Easycard, snacks vouchers, amusementparks voucher or hotsprings voucher. We got the amusement park vouchers, so it was free for one of us for both Leefoo and xiaorenguo.
